Sarah Orne Jewett
Just a few words on Sarah Jewett. I thought A white Heron was a great story. I love nature and I was very pleased that Sylvia didn't give away the location of the White Heron to the hunter. I read Ms. Jewett bio and I thought it was pretty cool that she was presumably a lesbian when it wasn't yet fashionable. You go girl!

I like the similarities between the little girl and the heron in the story. Both are so rare, so unique, and presumably innocent.
