Twain Quotes

"A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read."

'Classic.' A book which people praise and don't read.

"Don't let schooling interfere with your education."

"Don't say the old lady screamed. Bring her on and let her scream."

"Don't tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know the fish."

"He is now rising from affluence to poverty."

  1. Here are a couple of quotes by Mark Twain I like. I am a collector of quotes!

"Let us so live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry."

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."

  2. These are some really great quotes. I think my favorite of all of these is the one about the classics. I think alot of the time that statement is so true. Since I also love quotes and like to collect them when I find one that provokes an immediate feeling in me. I thought I would share a couple of mine also.

"No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be the true."

    Nathaniel Hawthorne

"Happy is the man who can make a living by his hobby!"

    George Bernard Shaw
